Forget MBFW, the royal wedding was on this weekend and that means sitting at home on the couch weeping about people we don’t know.Watching the fairytale play out; girl meets boy, they fall in love and she becomes a royal Duchess. It doesn’t get much better than that. Plus, who doesn’t love a good wedding outfit? Here are our favourites from the big day…
Serena Williams in dusty pink. A soft feminine hue that will never go out of fashion, this colour is basically a neutral but a whole lot prettier. Serena pulls off the colour perfectly along with a classic knee-length shape and interest in the asymmetric neckline.
Red is the colour of the season and this mix of textures is the perfect feminine spin on the much-loved hue. The long skirt length and sleeves with sheer mesh panelling offers the perfect mix of modest and edgy. A dress perfect for a royal affair without being too drab.
The classic preppy look is one that will never fail when it comes to formal get-togethers. Classic black contrasted against primary coloured stripes are a sophisticated step away from the usual pretty florals.
Now to the after party/reception a.k.a when the fun really begins. Guests made a quick switch over to something a little less church-y and a little more garden party appropriate. And quite frankly, this more fun side to fashion are the styles that really excite us.
Priyanka Chipra looks as though she was the one transforming into a princess. Carrying a mini Dior Lady bag, which matched the golden, flecked strapless gown, Priyanka let her loose locks out let her out letting her statement earrings say it all.
And of course, how could we write a review about the royal wedding fashion without mentioning the woman herself. Meghan Markle absolutely killed her after party look with an outfit that met somewhere in between classic and modern. Sophisticated and understated, the high collar neck and simple texture perfectly highlighted Meghan’s natural beauty.
